I’m Crazy… It May Be Official
Yeah, I may have finally snapped. If you’ll notice, I don’t post nearly as often as I said I was going to. This is on account of a new job, which I love btw. Still currently working the other job too… which adds up to more hours than the normal person works. Now add in the mini-clone, and the fact that the mini-clone is now in ballet once a week. On top of all this, I’ve been going to the gym regularly 4-5 times a week after work.
So what makes me utterly certifiable? Well… I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year! For those not “in the know”…
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30…
Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It’s all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.
Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that’s a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down.

Ooooh, exciting! I’m thinking of doing NaNoWriMo this year too – haven’t done it before. But it seems I’m much more swamped with school stuff than I’d imagined. I haven’t even thought of a story yet! :O
Hmmmm. I’ll hopefully be able to come up with something over my two week half-terms hols that’s starting after this week. We’ll see. But good luck to you and your dad!
